LEGO® Therapy - Building Connections Through Play

Welcome to Our LEGO® Therapy Programme

We offer specialist LEGO® therapy sessions designed to help children develop essential social and communication skills in a fun, engaging environment. Our sessions are led by Amy Goff, an Advanced LEGO® Therapy Practitioner, and bring together small groups of three children to work collaboratively on LEGO® building projects.

What is LEGO® Therapy?

LEGO® therapy is an evidence-based social development programme that uses LEGO® building activities to help children improve their social skills, communication abilities, and collaborative problem-solving.
During sessions, children work together in structured teams of three, with each child assigned a specific role:

  • The Engineer – holds the building instructions and describes what needs to be built
  • The Supplier – finds and supplies the correct LEGO® pieces
  • The Builder – assembles the pieces according to instructions

Children rotate through these roles, ensuring everyone experiences different aspects of teamwork and communication. This structured approach creates natural opportunities for interaction, turn-taking, and collaboration.

How LEGO® Therapy Develops
Social & Communication Skills

Social Interaction

Children learn to work together, share materials, and engage in joint activities in a low-pressure, motivating environment.

Communication Skills

The structured roles require clear verbal communication, listening skills, and the ability to give and follow instructions.

Turn-Taking

Children practice waiting, sharing responsibilities, and understanding that everyone has an important role to play.

Problem-Solving

Working together to overcome building challenges helps develop collaborative problem-solving and negotiation skills.

Confidence Building

Success in completing builds together boosts self-esteem and confidence in social situations.

Friendship Skills

Shared interests and collaborative achievements create natural opportunities for developing friendships.

Meet Our Practitioner

Amy Goff – Advanced LEGO® Therapy Practitioner

Amy is a qualified Advanced LEGO® Therapy Practitioner with extensive experience in supporting children’s social and emotional development. Her expertise ensures that each child receives tailored support in a safe, nurturing environment where they can develop at their own pace while enjoying the engaging world of LEGO® building.

Our Small Group Approach

We work with children in carefully structured groups of three. This small group size is ideal because it:
  • Provides enough social interaction without being overwhelming
  • Allows each child to have meaningful roles and responsibilities
  • Enables the practitioner to closely observe and support each child’s development
  • Creates a comfortable, safe space for children to practice new skills
  • Facilitates natural conversation and collaboration
