ARCOS has a well established Expert Witness practice. We offer a prompt and comprehensive service including assessment, report writing, recommendations and costings.

The ARCOS Expert Witness Service covers assessment of clients' needs for:

• speech and language therapy
• physiotherapy
• occupational therapy
• occupational psychology
• Special Educational Needs
• training for carers/personal assistants in therapeutic handling and communication
• equipment relevant to these areas

The service includes:

• client assessment either at the ARCOS Centre, Malvern, Worcestershire or home visits arranged throughout the UK
• costings for appropriate provision
• attendance at case conferences or telephone conferencing
• court attendance as required

Specialist areas:

• developmental conditions including cerebral palsy
• acquired traumatic brain injury (children and adults)
• language disorders including dysphasia
• swallowing (dysphagia)
• sensory and perceptual disorders
• dysarthria
• voice problems (aphonia/dysphonia)
• alternative communication (AAC) including signing
• providing, co-ordinating and evaluating therapy
