Connor’s Legacy at ARCOS – The Better, Quicker Campaign
Connor Moses was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour when he was 12 years old. ARCOS heard of his severe difficulties in speaking and swallowing one year later in 2010. We learned that he had successfully trialled a MyTobii eye gaze system from Smartbox AT in Malvern and we arranged to lend him the ARCOS MyTobii equipment. However, Connor’s condition deteriorated and he died on the day that it was due to be delivered.
Connor’s family generously donated the collection from his funeral service. We want to turn ‘too little too late’ into better and quicker services. Donations to the Better, Quicker Campaign will help improve life for those unable to speak. This might include providing advice, therapy or equipment such as the MyTobii computer based communication system. This equipment allows someone to control a computer and communicate by ‘voice’ output using eye movements.
